Well, this past Monday at 7:30AM (we had to be there at 5:30AM), Nicholas had another set of ear tubes put in and his adenoids removed. While in recovery, he chose to sleep off the anesthetic and the pain meds rather than drinking his juice, water, slushy, or anything else they offered. So, with the risk of dehydration and fever, he and I stayed overnight at WVU Hospital. Then Tuesday morning they released him and we headed back to Bridgeport to get Elizabeth and finally get back to Chapmanville.
But while we were in the recovery room, a really cool thing happened. Coach Bill Stewart, WVU's head football coach, was wheeled into the room directly across from us. After the nurses were finished with getting him settled, he looked over and waved and Nicholas. Then when he was released, Coach Stewart stuck his head in our room and spoke to Nicholas (and Mike and I). It was such a nice gesture and made a bright spot in our day.
This week has been spent playing catch-up. There were several things on tap for the week, but loosing Tuesday didn't help us any, especially Mike with work. But I was SO glad that he was there with me this time.
Hope everyone reading this is having a good week. Happy Friday tomorrow!
