We visited the North Central part of WV over the weekend. My sister's youngest daughter turned 4 last Wednesday, so we had already planned to go up for the party. But Mike's work schedule required that he be there Saturday rather than traveling with us, so I went up a couple of days early. Nicholas had a dentist appointment on Thursday morning (all was good), so we headed north after that.
Friday we spent part of the day helping Pappa Francis with some stuff, then we went to Bridgeport to see Grandma and Papaw Bramer for the afternoon. Friday night, a group of the family got together for dinner to welcome home my cousin, Scott, from Iraq. (He's actually been out of the country for a month, but he didn't get to come back to WV for a while. Friday was a good day!
Saturday we went to my sister's for Breagan's birthday party. She had an Abby Cadabby, one of the newer Sesame Street characters, party. Then the kids and I spent the night with her in Morgantown.
Sunday morning we went to church with them. Then headed back toward Chapmanville. But before we got home, we met Mike in Charleston to see the Ringling Brothers circus. The kids absolutely LOVED that! Nicholas says his favorite was the tigers and the elephants. I also think he liked the motorcycle stuff too; they ran 4, then 5, then 7 motorcycles in a little spherical cage. Elizabeth seemed to be mesmerized by most of it. But I think her favorite was probably the horses. For a lot of the second half, she was climbing on me. It was after 9pm when we got home Sunday night, but we had a great time.
A wonderful weekend of fun and family with beautiful weather to top it off.
