We had a great weekend in North Central WV this weekend. Yesterday, we went to Bridgeport and spent the better part of the day with Grandma and Papaw Bramer. The kids had a good time checking out the new vehicle and "going to a birthday party." (They play a game with Grandma, sing songs and Nicholas pretends to drive the truck.) We celebrated Father's Day with them at lunch time...complete with a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Yum! Then last night they watched the kids while Mike and I went to dinner and ran a few errands. It was nice, but different, to go out without the two little ones.
Today we went to Fairmont for a family picnic of sorts. My Uncle Ralph and Aunt Norma are here from Arizona. It's been several years since they were here, so it was great to see them again. Jennifer made lunch; it was great! Then we played a game of dominoes - Chicken Foot. It was fun to play a game as a family again! Usually it's UNO, but some of them have been playing dominoes for a while.
Mike had a pretty good day today as well. He got a chance to do the things he loves....watching the race, holding his little girl and resting. Nicholas spent some time with him too, but he was spending a little more time running around with his cousins today. Hopefully, this week we can spend a little more time as a family and really celebrate Father's Day.
It's about time for bed around here. Good night all!
